This is a computer aided design for a princess cut diamond, the image below is a screen shot in the actual 3d cad program. the image on the left is a rendering of the model below.

If you notice the edge of the bezel seems high, it is left that way intentionally to allow enough metal to set the diamond when the model reaches the final metal stage.
